Fill The Shelves

Fill the shelves is a new initiative to help underfunded school libraries. I read about the programme when someone in the PiBoIdMo (Picture Book Idea Month) facebook group posted the following link:

It is an amazing story and a great project so I hope you will consider going and having a read. The post links you to the Fill the Shelves website where you can find schools who have signed up to get books for their libraries. Each has a wish list on Amazon so all you have to do is pick a school, view their wish list, purchase a book from the list and Amazon gets it delivered directly to the school.

Just imagine if everyone bought just one book! I’m going to write to the children at the schools I sent to, to see how they are enjoying their books. I might also send one of Jamies old books but not sure how much the postage would be. Perhaps just a picture instead?

Not sure yet but it felt good.. Why not join in and take part too?
