An Art Swap

I wrote a blog a while ago about an art swap I’d recieved from someone on swap-bot as a private swap (this is when you set something up with an individual so you know who you are swapping with). Here is the picture I sent back to the swapper.

She started off quite different from who she became at the end.

Here she is as I sketched an image onto some acrylic paper.  I initially wanted to make her quite sad and moody but then she kind of evolved into something a bit more cheerful and bright. The great thing about taking photographs is that I can go back and do this darker version another time.

Here is how she ended up:

I used coloured pencils, and the acrylic paper added a texture to the page.

I really love this picture – I was actually really sad to see it go but I did manage to make a scan of it and have popped it on some journals and notecards.
